from a child all the way up until now i've had to wear a facade to blend in and be a part of white america when i was working for a particular company i had a boss and he put me on a particular project and i told him i said you know i'm really having issues digging into this and finding like the details everything is so hidden and he made a comment to me he said oh yeah like the underground railroad i just i was so shocked when i see the videos of the attacks i know what street that is i know exactly where these things are taking place and i feel like a lot of us we've been screaming into this void of hey look at this it keeps happening again and again it was unfortunate that it took atlanta to really get us to that point where everything that people had been screaming about suddenly it was like oh i didn't know i had no idea there was a lot that happened across 2020 it was a draining year it was also a year that we saw a lot of people not being willing to take things as they were and say okay we need to stop and we need to see a change servicenow took a different approach they were like no let's have these difficult conversations and that was the first time in my life that i literally broke down because i did not understand the amount of pain i was holding in i think the company really stepped up in the sense that they really started to put some action to words you can't just be a facade and sort of say the word you have to physically do the work as well and servicenow is doing it the team really encourages you to be you not to really kind of put on like this corporate persona and if you do have an idea they encourage you to explore it and they just help you kind of elevate it so you can bring your ideas to life you can feel the sincerity in the authenticity i'm not afraid to ask questions they're open you know and also they're willing to learn from you it's not taken as an hr agenda it's a leadership agenda and it flows right from the top to bottom across regions across levels across functions i'm hispanic and then my husband happens to be a black male and at my previous company i didn't see myself represented in leadership and here at servicenow i do this is not one person at servicenow this is what this company believes this is the part of the culture and character of servicenow and simple acts of humanity can change the world and those simple acts of humanity practice every day will change the world [Music] you
