Xplore: Most downloaded app in ServiceNow history, 4.9 Upgrade!
hey everyone welcome back to my channel it is so good to have you here king james neal is at it again with the release of explore version 4.9 and i'm here to break down my three favorite features to showcase the features i've written a short script to count the letters and words of the explore 4.9 release notes i'm leveraging user data which is an awesome feature you can learn about right here now on with the features number one opening script history in new tabs if you're like me you likely have multiple explore windows going at once james has made it super convenient now to just open your script history in a new tab rather than duplicating tabs first let's demonstrate by opening up my letter and word counter in a new tab number two better millisecond formatting milliseconds now align nicely which is a great addition for those of us doing super deep debugging with gs info warn and error as you can see i've run my script here and you can see the millisecond markers for my two gs info statements does the out of box utilities even give you millisecond tracking yet i just stopped looking number three sharing your work this is my favorite new feature and the first it uniquely benefits development teams because now you can copy everything about your explore session into a url why is that so awesome because it's not just like copying and pasting your script in my example i use the user data feature for my script to work with but now i'm going to go copy the link to that script now i'm going to go into another instance not as myself but jake japper we'll pretend jake is also helping me troubleshoot this script i'm going to go to an explore session paste the script into the explorer script panel and then run it and as you see jake gets the script i was working on as well as the user data that i had configured before i copied it copying all the elements of my explore session is super useful and i can imagine it being a huge benefit to servicenow development teams number four sharing your results sometimes it's not the code that we want but just the results so here i've created a script that pushes a bunch of incidents into an array and previously i'd have to copy and paste that but now i can just go copy results pull up a notepad and paste the results i just copied i really like the direction explorer is going with these features i can only guess at james's intent but i foresee using this a lot more in a team setting both to share the scripts i'm working on and to show the odd results certain scripts are getting now everyone go grab the latest version of explorer and be sure to drop a five-star review on share if you'd like to sponsor this channel's content email me at the address pictured here if you need a conversation on where your servicenow implementation is or where it's going you can reach me on super peers and book a short consult if you want to contribute to high quality high frequency output consider a donation if not i still appreciate your viewership consider hitting the like button and sharing within your network thanks for watching you
