ServiceNow extends the System of Action to End User Computers and Servers.

Import · Apr 16, 2021 · article

We are excited to announce general availability of the Agent Client Collector for Visibility!

This is part of the ServiceNow unified agent strategy whereby many tough use cases can be solved with a single agent. The Agent Client Collector Framework (ACC-F) is the secret sauce and includes the agent itself along with enhancements to the MID Server and ServiceNow instance.

image Beyond ServiceNow ITOM Visibility, multiple ServiceNow products such as ITOM Health and the Agent Client Collector Spoke are already providing plugins to ACC-F. Other products, such as ServiceNow Software Asset Management use asset inventory and software metering data gathered by Agent Client Collector for Visibility (ACC-V) to power additional outcomes. Clearly, the capabilities go far beyond finally knowing what you are supposed to be managing. Knowing what you are supposed to manage is a critical part of managing IT though. While ITOM Visibility has excellent agent-less discovery capabilities, there are cases where customers need agents on servers in the data center. Also, agent-less discovery of End User Computers (EUC) is simply not feasible. This is where ACC-V comes in! With ACC-V, you can maintain a complete and correct inventory no matter where the remote computer is.

Benefits of the ServiceNow Agent Client Collector Strategy:

Need agent based monitoring to process events and metrics for servers and applications? ITOM Health provides a plugin to ACC-F for that purpose.

Need to run ad-hoc queries on remote computers via an agent? Maybe you just want to know who is logged on or if the computer Firewall is enabled. You can use the Agent Client Collector Spoke for that. Easy to see how operational efficiency is enhanced.
