About
Build, test & troubleshoot solutions without risk of unintentionally emailing users in sub-production instances.
Sometimes, real users in a production instance **_also_** exist in a testing or staging instance. This happens typically because an organization uses the **_same_** access management service (like AD or LDAP) for both production and sub-production environments. This is where inadvertent spam can become a real problem.
PowerShield Whitelist provides a quick and simple way to prevent sending emails to unintended users. It does this by enabling you to identify, or “whitelist” users and email addresses that you **_want _** to be sending emails to, and blocking emails to those who are not on the “whitelist.”
Creating the whitelist is easy, through group membership and external email address list. The tool also lets you easily whitelist all of your Gmail test addresses (Gmail Plus Addressing) by simply entering the Google username(s).
Detailed logging of whitelist filtering actions is available, it can be turned on and off, and you can configure the number of days the logs are kept.
Key Features
- Gives admins control to whitelist users and email addresses in sub-production instances, preventing unintentional spamming of other users on the Platform.
- Easily control whitelist using group membership or with a manual list of email addresses. Added benefit of not having to create user account for test emails.
- The utility allows the use of Gmail emails by simply adding the usernames (without the @gmail.com), and also supports Gmail Plus Addressing, allowing you to send to an unlimited number of email addresses while having all emails going to a single Gmail inbox, giving you powerful testing ability.
- Logging capability gives users the means to troubleshoot the email notification whitelist and better understand the logic in selecting email recipients. In addition, information about who would have received the email notification is inserted into the body of the email.
