About
Automation across the enterprise requires customers to move processes away from visual interface and instead leverage CLI/API to script critical operations. With the introduction of the CMDB Application CLI and API app, customers now have a robust API and CLI framework they can leverage. With the initial release, customers can use CLI/API to register an application service, create an application service, and find an application service as well as connect higher level constructs such as business application and business service offering. Future releases will add additional functionality all through the CLI/API App, without being completely tied to SN platform release.
Key Features
The application includes 9 APIs that perform the following functions:
1. Register Application Service – Creates an application service, tags and constructs upstream relations such as business application, business service offering and another application service
2. Update Application Service – Update an existing application service provided as well as creates tags for the given application service
3. Update Application Service State – Updates Application Service Lifecycle fields to activate, deactivate and retire
4. Find Application Service – Get details of a given application service and its upstream relations
5. Delete Application Service – Delete the given application service
6. Create Application Service Relationship – Constructs upstream relations such as business application, business service offering and another application service
7. Delete Application Service Relationship – Deletes given upstream relation of a an Application service
8. Populate Application Service – Populates and application service with the given population type
- Allowed population types: cmdb\_group, service\_hierarchy, dynamic\_service, tag\_list, tag\_based\_service\_family
9. Convert Application Service – Convert Manual application service/Empty application Service to Dynamic application service.
