About
The ** Tier44 EM/8 QS** **(Quick Scan)** application, part of the Tier44 DCIM Datacenter Management solutions for ServiceNow, extends **Hardware Asset Management (HAM/HAMPro)** by providing a graphical rack elevation view to audit data center assets, showing assets already scanned and assets still requiring to be scanned in a single view.
This allows site technicians to quickly scan racks using barcode scanners connected to the laptop. As these scanners have red markers to point to tags for scanning, the risk of scanning a non-asset tag is much lower compared to the mobile scanner on the phone. The result is a more efficient audit by going click by click from one asset to the next without additional interaction, unless its a tag that is not found or currently located in another location according to the cmdb.
The result of the scan is stored in the Hardware Asset Management tables the same way the mobile scanner would store such data.
In any case where the scanned asset is not within the rack, a pop-up window will show up with a link to the cmdb/asset record in ServiceNow to make the necessary adjustments and corrections.
