With this integration, the SMART® Health Card Verifier API makes it easy to verify SMART® Health Cards as proof of vaccination by checking that the submission is valid and was issued by a participant in the CommonTrust Network Registry.
Key Features
The validation steps for SMART® Health Card for COVID-19 vaccinations are as follows:
- If a numeric encoded SMART® Health Card is provided, it is converted to the proper format to allow for processing.
- The authenticity of the SMART® Health Card is verified.
- The issuance date of the SMART® Health Card is validated.
- Structural validation is performed to help ensure that the SMART® Health Card payload is well formed.
- If the SMART® Health Card passes validation, the SMART® Health Card payload is included in the response.
The SMART® Health Card Verifier API queries the CommonTrust Network Registry using the issuer identifier. If the issuer is located in the CommonTrust Network Registry, the issuer information is returned for verification.
